Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout stations, platforms, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated locations to help to deter unauthorized access, guide the public, and support orderly movement throughout the location.
  • Assist with security-related incidents involving trespassing, suspicious activity, and/or disorderly conduct while maintaining a professional presence in a government-related public transit environment.
