In this access control role, you will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering professional customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A DPSS/DHS COLA with tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, screening visitors, verifying identification and credentials, and controlling access to authorized areas within a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or designated access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and support established security-related protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with staff, visitors, and/or public agency representatives as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, key and badge activity, and other required documentation related to access control and daily post operations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, facility issues, and/or situations requiring security-related response.
