Requirements

At least 21 years of age at the time of application.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant security experience.
Valid driver’s license in accordance with the AU Driver Policy Requirements.
Valid driver’s license recognized in the job state where they will be employed.
Prior experience with access control systems and badge management.
Familiarity with alarm panel operations.
Proficiency in using computers or tablets for daily tasks.
Possess a valid CPR certification.
Ability to lift more than 20 lbs.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary across the campus.
Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus procedures.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and other security-related observations.
