Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas, documenting observations and unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, exit, and movement through designated areas in accordance with post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support when appropriate.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, access-control activities, and other security-related observations.
