Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have 1+ years of law enforcement experience or 2+ years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate with school administrators, first responders, and/or Allied Universal management as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter locations to help to identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Serve in an armed post in accordance with Allied Universal standards and site requirements, maintaining professional bearing and following all applicable post orders related to equipment handling and incident response.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, help to enforce location rules, and document observations, incidents, and/or policy violations in a timely and accurate manner.
