Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, walkways, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and campus grounds, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Support day-to-day operations during classes, events, arrivals, departures, and/or after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and following post orders and client-directed procedures.
