As a Security Officer - Overnight Museum of Arts Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a cultural institution, you will conduct routine patrols throughout museum spaces, remain visible to help deter incidents, monitor alarm panels, and support a welcoming experience for guests, staff, and visitors. You will communicate professionally, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, team-focused culture with integrity.

Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A Guard Card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout museum galleries, public spaces, entrances, exterior areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directional information, and support the protection of artwork, exhibits, and cultural assets in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting requirements.
