As a Security Officer - Outdoor Shopping Plaza Patrol in San Marcos, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and guests. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, tenants, shoppers, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, assist with crowd and/or line management during busy periods, and support store and property personnel with security-related issues, policy questions, and general assistance.
• Observe and report maintenance issues, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations while maintaining a visible presence and providing courteous assistance in a fast-paced shopping environment.
