As an Access Control Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, manage visitor flow, and maintain a professional, visible presence to help deter incidents. You will communicate clearly with visitors and staff, document activity, and provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access logs in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel and document observations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned government facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
  • Support a professional and orderly environment by providing directions, reporting maintenance or security-related concerns, and following Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
