About The Position

Sight & Sound is seeking a part-time Security Officer or Guard to work evenings during the midweek and flexible shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, primarily from March through December. This role supports the organization's mission by serving guests, visitors, and co-workers, and stewarding the facility and property. The position averages up to 25 hours per week and maintains a 24/7 security presence. While this position has a defined schedule, occasional needs for alternate shifts may arise. The duties described are for the armed Security Officer role, though the ACT 235 Certification is not strictly required for the unarmed Security Guard role. Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of armed security, police, or military experience (for Security Officer position).
• Currently hold or eligible to obtain PA Act 235 Certification.
• Valid Concealed Carry Permit.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Ability to respond calmly, rationally, and with discernment in a stressful environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Outgoing, personable, likable, approachable, and even-tempered.
• Maintain a fitness level that allows for a swift and appropriate response to emergencies.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• Available to work all shifts and travel occasionally for training.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements including: pass a physical exam by a medical doctor; have uncorrected vision of at least 20/70 in one eye and 20/200 in the other; have corrected vision of at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other; pass a hearing examination (permitted to use hearing aid); pass a psychological examination administered by a licensed psychologist; and have no conviction of a disqualifying criminal offense.
• Must pass a drug & alcohol screening, both pre-employment and annually thereafter.
• Must be able to pass a physical fitness assessment, both pre-employment and annually thereafter.
• Must pass a psychological wellbeing checkup annually.
• Must pass a background check, both pre-employment and annually thereafter.
• Maintain a current PA ACT 235 certification.
• Employees in this position are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings.
• Must be able to meet the following physical requirements upon hire and annually thereafter: pass a physical exam by a medical doctor; have uncorrected vision of at least 20/70 in one eye and 20/200 in the other; have corrected vision of at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other; pass a hearing examination (permitted to use hearing aid); pass a psychological examination administered by a licensed psychologist; and have no conviction of a disqualifying criminal offense.

Nice To Haves

• ACT 235 Certification and related training/experience is not strictly required for the unarmed Security Guard role.
• Applicants who do not currently hold the PA ACT 235 certification will be considered for this role if they meet all other hiring criteria. If selected for hire, and the applicant desires to become an armed Security Officer, the applicant would receive the title of "Provisional" and have up to 90 days to obtain the certification.

• Understand basic security principles and how to implement them while delivering top quality customer service to our guests and employees.
• Attend and complete all annual training set by Security Manager/Trainer (range qualifications and classroom).
• Stay current with Sight & Sound security procedures and SOPs and establish strong working relationships with local public safety entities (fire, police, outside security contractors).
• Intentionally engage in positive relationships with Sight & Sound coworkers and guests.
