Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific policies, access procedures, and other security-related protocols at an educational government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and public emergency responders when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, common areas, and assigned posts for security-related concerns, document daily activities and incidents, and provide requested information or assistance to authorized personnel and visitors.
• Support emergency response activities, including following post instructions for evacuations, lockdowns, medical incidents, and/or other urgent situations as directed by site policy.
