About The Position

As our Security Officer NB, you will ensure a reasonably safe and secure healthcare environment by promptly responding to security emergencies and maintaining a professional demeanor while supporting CommonSpirit Health's mission and strategic goals. Every day you will observe and report activities/incidents, preserve order, enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested, and document all incidents and requests within the hospital reporting platform, acting consistently with CommonSpirit Health's core values. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong observational skills, a professional demeanor, the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, and a commitment to documenting incidents accurately while upholding safety and security standards. Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions. Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes. Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner. Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location. Requirements

  • High School Graduate, upon hire or High School GED, upon hire
  • Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; , upon hire or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer, upon hire
  • Security Guard: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
  • Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days
