As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to alarms, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations on campus in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, residence areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence at the educational location.
