Job Description As a Security Officer - Main Lobby - Unarmed in Chicago, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, helping manage access, greet shoppers and staff, answer questions, and support a polished visitor experience. You will monitor cameras and alarms, document incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams while acting with integrity. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the front desk by greeting and directing guests, managing visitor check-in and/or badge issuance, and helping maintain access control in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communications systems from the front desk, documenting observations and reporting irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and/or assistance as required.
  • Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal supervision.
