As a Security Officer Logistics - Unarmed in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location. Monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor access, respond to alarm panel activity, conduct routine patrols, and provide exceptional customer service. Help maintain a secure environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while using computer or tablet systems to document security-related activity.

Requirements

• Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access credentials as directed, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Document incidents, access irregularities, and unusual activity in accordance with site procedures, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
