About The Position

As a Security Officer X Ray Inspection Technician in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will use screening technology to help identify potential security-related concerns, support loss prevention efforts, and maintain a professional, welcoming presence. You will communicate clearly with employees and visitors, document observations using computer or tablet systems, and work collaboratively with Allied Universal teammates to support operations with integrity, reliability, and care.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access-control policies at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, packages, freight, and/or vehicles in accordance with established procedures, reporting prohibited items, discrepancies, or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and shipping-related documentation as assigned, and maintain accurate logs and records.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business operations and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized access and report security-related concerns.
