About The Position

As a Security Officer - Industrial Patrol Driver in Elkton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with site partners while representing Allied Universal with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting AU Driver Policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter; note and report unusual conditions that may impact operations.
  • Monitor access control points by verifying identification and/or authorization, directing visitors and contractors to the proper check-in process, and documenting entries and exits per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, spills, equipment issues, and other operational disruptions; notify site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Complete shift activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation; communicate relevant security-related information to oncoming officers and site leadership.
