About The Position

As a Security Officer - Industrial Access Control in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Requirements

Have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and directing visitors to sign in and/or be escorted per site policy.
Screen inbound and outbound traffic, including employee vehicles, visitor vehicles, and delivery drivers, by verifying appointments, shipping documentation, and authorized access lists.
Monitor alarm panels, cameras, and/or other access control systems; document unusual activity and report concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuation, severe weather, and medical response procedures as directed by site policy.
Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouse space, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations.
Complete detailed reports of daily activities, access logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes; maintain accurate records for audits and investigations.
Coordinate with operations staff to support controlled access during shift changes, maintenance work, and special projects, following site rules for restricted areas.
Assist with key control and/or badge inventory processes as assigned, including logging issuance and recovering credentials when directed by site procedures.
