About The Position

As a Security Officer - Hospital Security Rounds in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will conduct regular patrols to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all. Your presence and proactive approach will contribute to a sense of comfort and support for staff, patients, and visitors. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas using a company vehicle while delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and monitor for unusual circumstances.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any security-related concerns or hazards promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Document observations and incidents according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Offer assistance and guidance to staff, patients, and visitors as appropriate while maintaining a professional presence.
