About The Position

As a Hospital Security Guard in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a hospital setting, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a hospital setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns throughout the hospital. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate personnel and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific policies, assisting with directions and maintaining professional interactions with diverse populations.
  • Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and report security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
