As a Security Officer Hospital Screening in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Screener at a busy government healthcare location, you will greet visitors, support entry screening procedures, monitor access points, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will help identify security-related concerns, assist staff and guests with professionalism, and represent Allied Universal’s caring culture through teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Hospital vaccines are required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government healthcare location.
  • Screen visitors, employees, and/or permitted items at designated entry points, checking identification, badges, and authorized access in accordance with location policies.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited items, and/or escalated situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and nearby assigned areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized access, and document screening-related incidents and daily activity.
  • Communicate clearly with the public, patients, staff, and/or contractors while providing directions, answering questions, and supporting orderly entry procedures.
