Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Be able to restrain individuals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a behavioral health care setting.
  • Respond to incidents, behavioral health-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
  • Assist with access control, visitor management, and direction-giving while maintaining a respectful, trauma-informed presence around patients and visitors.
  • Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
