Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with hospital personnel and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including entrances, parking areas, hallways, waiting areas, and perimeter points, to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, directing visitors and/or vendors according to site procedures and reporting suspicious behavior or policy violations.
  • Support a professional environment by following Allied Universal standards, observing conditions that may affect patients and/or staff, and reporting maintenance, hazard, and/or security-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
