About The Position

As a Security Officer Government Services Building Control Access in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. You will report observations, respond to concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven culture through teamwork.

Requirements

Have at least one year of security-related experience.
Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, families, and agency partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting activities in accordance with site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government office areas, entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and verify visitor entry procedures in accordance with site requirements; report suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, and facility concerns to appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol records while communicating professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
