As a Security Officer Government Facility Control Access in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government office location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, entry points, public spaces, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and follow established site procedures for notifications and documentation.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site policies, reporting access concerns and unauthorized activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
