Requirements

  • 2 or more years of security-related experience are required.
  • Applicants must be 21 or more years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen visitors, employees, and/or contractors at designated entry points by checking identification, following access procedures, and reporting irregularities to site leadership.
  • Monitor entrances and high-traffic areas, help to deter unauthorized access, and document screening activity in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned, noting unusual conditions and communicating security-related concerns.
