Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Credential Check in MELVILLE, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location where you will help manage access control, greet and assist visitors and drivers, verify badges and credentials, and monitor entry points using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, managing visitor and contractor logs, and directing deliveries to the appropriate dock or staging area.
- Screen and monitor inbound and outbound traffic by checking truck and trailer information, confirming appointments and/or shipping documentation, and reporting irregularities according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and emergency services when required and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, monitor cameras and alarms as assigned, and complete required reports to help support security-related operations.
