As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and conduct routine patrols while remaining visible to help to deter incidents. You will document security-related observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and deliver customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal driver policy requirements, supporting integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs and directing drivers, employees and/or visitors to the proper staging or receiving areas.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound activity including trucks, trailers and packages for irregularities, report concerns per post orders and help to deter unauthorized access or removal of property.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Complete required documentation such as access logs, incident reports and shift activity reports, and communicate status updates during shift turnovers.
