As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting access control at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, you will greet and screen visitors, manage badges and credentials, and monitor entry points to help reduce unauthorized access. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, respond to security-related alarms and incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. You will bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach in an agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access to the location by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing visitors to approved destinations.
  • Screen and/or inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles and deliveries as required, verify documentation, and report irregularities through the established chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiate notifications, and complete accurate incident reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, and perimeter points, document observations, and help to deter unauthorized activity.
