Job Description As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Entry Control in Pontiac, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Security Officer, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document security-related activity with clear communication. You will support routine patrols and a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, while delivering customer service with integrity, teamwork, and innovative, people-first problem solving.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a tech-focused location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, managing visitor registration, issuing badges as directed by site policy, and directing guests, vendors, and employees to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, review access logs and/or electronic access control activity, and report irregularities according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and/or exterior areas, including lobbies, corridors, loading areas, and perimeter points, as permitted by the site.
