As a Security Officer Gatehouse Attendant in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in processes, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, lobby areas, loading zones, and perimeter, with duties varying based on location conditions and operational needs.
  • Communicate with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access issues, unusual activity, and/or security-related incidents that may impact daily operations.
