Security Officer/ Gate attendant (TC SO)

Per Mar Security Services, a leading provider of integrated security solutions, is seeking hardworking and motivated individuals for the role of Security Officer/Gate Attendant. Established in 1953, Per Mar Security Services is the largest, family-owned, full-service security company in the Midwest, operating in 25 branch locations with over 2,600 team members. The company offers comprehensive security solutions for homes and businesses, including security officer services, smart home automation, burglar and fire alarms, access control, security cameras, alarm monitoring, investigative services, and background checks. This specific role is more focused on loss prevention than traditional security.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Familiarity with security equipment
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Must possess the values important to Per Mar Security – Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service, and Accountability.
- Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, background investigation.
- Good understanding of computers (handheld computers are used).
- Generally, good knowledge of the building industry and construction is required.
- A lot of walking required on concrete is required, especially in summer months.
- Must be able to communicate well with the public.
Responsibilities
- Check vehicles entering the premises and provide directions to product locations.
- Verify that the product exiting the premises matches the purchased product.
- Check orders and count purchased product.
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
- Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security.
- Warn violators of premise rules and regulations.
- Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Report any facility issues.
- Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations.
