About The Position

CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and we encourage active military service members, veterans, and their family members to apply. Under the direct supervision of the Safety and Security Coordinator, the Security Officer/GA is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly atmosphere in the building, including screening individuals entering the building, discouraging physical violence of any kind and monitoring consumer and visitor activity. This role is responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to provide crisis intervention as needed (Therapeutic Options A & Therapeutic Options B on an Emergency basis)
  • Must be physically able to do lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers according to approved agency policies/procedures
  • Ability to lift, transport and/or physically manage consumers that vary in weight and size, minimally fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to re-certify in CPR/First Aide each year following employment
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use
  • May be required to perform job functions at other CMHA-CEI work sites
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam
  • Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen

Benefits

  • Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm – 12am
  • + $2/hour for hours worked 12am – 8am
  • + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm – Monday 8am
