About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening Specialist in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening visitors, belongings, and authorized items using established procedures and screening equipment. You will remain attentive, communicate professionally with the public and agency personnel, and promptly report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and personal property using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; identify prohibited or unauthorized items and follow escalation protocols.
  • Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate entry points, and maintain orderly flow through designated screening areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel and document observations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry areas and surrounding perimeter, as directed, to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
