As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Associate in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. This role blends patrol responsibilities with strong customer service and communication, reflecting Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, exterior perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior.
• Support access control, visitor interactions, and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
