About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Credential Verification Driver in Fernandina Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government port authority location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support a welcoming, professional environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter incidents, communicate clearly with visitors and personnel, and operate a vehicle as needed. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, employees, and/or government personnel while carrying out site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian access to port and highway authority facilities in accordance with established procedures, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response protocols and promptly notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations; document observations and report maintenance concerns or security-related issues.
