As a Security Officer Full Time Armed in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will respond to concerns, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming environment while representing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
