About The Position

The Flex Security Officer provides security coverage and is responsible for filling open shifts, covering call-outs, vacations, special events, and other staffing needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays with limited advance notice. The Flex Security Officer will ensure a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors, staff and property of CRISTA Ministries. This is accomplished by conducting routine random patrol of CRISTA property, responding to an investigation of security related incidents, reporting safety hazards observed during patrol activity, and appropriately documenting actions and observations noted during assigned shift. Additionally, the Flex Security Officer can read and comprehend key cut codes and produce keys upon request. Ability to produce and program basic photo ID and access cards upon request.

  • Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
  • High school diploma or equivalent or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of security experience or equivalent in field.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook.
  • Previous security access control system experience.
  • Ability to respond to schedule requests within two hours to maintain Flex Security Officer status.
  • Must be willing to work varying schedules, including: Days, swing, and overnight shifts, Weekends and holidays, Short-notice and emergency coverage assignments
  • Minimum age of 21, per insurance carrier requirements.
  • Ability to interact with people of various cultures and diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent hearing and eyesight.
  • Physically able to work, stand, walk, and climb stairs for entire shift.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to emergency situations.
  • Hours are not guaranteed and may vary based on operational requirements.
  • Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. ( WAC 388-113 ).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous security, law enforcement, and/or military experience
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Strong technical understanding of existing security systems including access control, CCTV, and key control, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for shift coverage and accept available assignments based on operational needs and availability.
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot and by vehicle.
  • Identify and report all incidents and hazards in prescribed manner.
  • Respond effectively to instructions given by management and emergency personnel.
  • Provide the highest degree of customer service, determining and responding to the needs of residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Verbally communicate in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all private CRISTA-related information, including patient information.
  • Work independently when necessary.
  • Function effectively as part of the Security team
  • Must be physically able to work, stand, walk, and climb stairs for entire shift.
  • Must be able to respond rapidly to emergency situations.
  • Work various shifts and overtime as necessary, to accommodate department needs.
  • Must have excellent hearing and eyesight.
  • Officer will complete timely all required documentation, following established procedures and using appropriate spelling and grammar.
  • Able to read and comprehend key cut codes and from them, produce copies of keys upon request.
  • Able to use CRISTA access control system to program and produce standard photo ID and access cards when requested.
  • Maintain appearance standards as established by supervisor
  • Perform all other assigned duties
