As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff, residents, and visitors, respond to concerns, and document observations with attention to detail. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a state, county, and/or city issued security license preferred.
  • Maintain CPR certification preferred.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and documenting observations per post orders.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, assist with visitor check-in and/or badge procedures as required, and help to maintain orderly access to the property.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting assistance from site leadership and/or public emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoffs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
