As an unarmed, driving patrol Security Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns across facilities and routes. You will communicate clearly with riders, employees, and public partners while documenting observations and responding to incidents. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific security-related procedures, transit facility policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with transit personnel and local public responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit centers, bus bays, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor pedestrian and vehicle traffic flow, assist with access control points, and/or provide directions and information to riders and visitors while observing for unusual conditions.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, communicate observations through radio and/or phone, and report maintenance concerns such as lighting, doors, or hazards to the appropriate party.
