You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, support access control and badge checks, write clear reports, and provide helpful customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following post orders, security-related procedures, and/or site-specific policies at a utilities location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, substations, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and help to manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service calls in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate notifications to site contacts and/or public emergency responders when needed.
  • Document observations, patrol findings, and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate pertinent information during shift turnover.
