As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine mobile patrols, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and adherence to AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will build rapport with students, staff, and visitors through strong customer service, clear communication, and teamwork grounded in integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and control access to campus facilities, verify identification and/or visitor authorization, and direct guests to appropriate locations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing assistance, documenting details, and notifying appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter policy violations, unauthorized activity, and/or property damage.
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations; communicate shift handoff information and coordinate with campus partners as needed.
