You will manage access control and badge checks, monitor entry activity, assist with basic computer or tablet tasks, and communicate clearly with campus partners when concerns arise. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Staff the front desk to control access by greeting and screening visitors, confirming appointments and/or authorization, and issuing temporary credentials according to site policy.
  • Monitor lobby and entry activity, assist with directing foot traffic, and help to deter unauthorized entry by maintaining a professional presence at the reception area.
  • Answer telephones and/or radios, relay messages, and coordinate with campus contacts and Allied Universal supervision regarding routine requests and unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical response notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete required reports such as visitor logs, incident reports, and shift activity logs in a timely manner.
  • Observe and report hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations to appropriate personnel, following escalation procedures.
  • Assist with key control, package drop-off procedures, and lost and found processes in accordance with site guidelines.
