About The Position

As a Security Officer Screener in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by screening people and items, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and team members, and use technology to document activity. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or shipments in accordance with location procedures and access-control requirements.
  • Operate screening equipment and conduct visual inspections of personal property, cargo, and restricted-area entries while following established protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting concerns through established channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, access points, loading locations, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
