About The Position

As a Security Officer Experienced Licensed Patrol Duty in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting relevant information to site contacts and/or public agency representatives.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, waiting areas, boarding points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor entry and restricted areas, assist with access control procedures, and provide directions and information to the public while supporting daily operations at a government location.
  • Observe and report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations, and assist with crowd management during busy travel periods, service disruptions, and/or special events.
