Requirements

• Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following campus protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and/or unusual conditions to the appropriate contacts in a timely manner.
• Support campus operations by assisting with directions, visitor interactions, and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
