Requirements

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and communicate with site contacts and/or first responders when needed regarding security-related matters.
• Support loss prevention awareness by documenting suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or unusual conditions and sharing information through proper reporting channels.
