Job Description As a Security Officer - Entry Screening in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Screener at a busy healthcare location, you will greet staff, patients, and visitors while supporting access control and other security-related screening steps at entry points. You will help monitor assigned areas, communicate clearly, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct entry screening for people and items, including monitoring designated checkpoints, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in or waiting areas.
  • Observe for unusual activity or policy violations and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas by monitoring doors, alarms, and/or visitor logs, and communicating access requirements to staff and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and the perimeter as assigned, noting hazards or maintenance issues and reporting them through the appropriate channels.
