About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic logistics and distribution location. You will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying badges and credentials, screening visitors and packages, and supporting loss prevention efforts. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries; verify credentials and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures; and maintain accurate visitor, driver, and access records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, dock areas, trailer yards, and perimeter to help identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
• Support the orderly movement of vehicles and personnel by observing entry and exit activity, communicating with site personnel, and documenting security-related incidents and observations.
