About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic logistics and distribution location. You will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying badges and credentials, screening visitors and packages, and supporting loss prevention efforts. Through professional communication and customer service, you will help deter incidents while representing our agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access points for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries; verify credentials and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures; and maintain accurate visitor, driver, and access records.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, dock areas, trailer yards, and perimeter to help identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
  • Support the orderly movement of vehicles and personnel by observing entry and exit activity, communicating with site personnel, and documenting security-related incidents and observations.
