About The Position

Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

• Possess 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an armed patrol post in an industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment and following post orders and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations as required, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate contact.
• Support incident documentation by preparing clear, accurate reports and communicating observations, actions taken, and/or follow-up needs with supervisors, site contacts, and/or first responders.
